Has a surface of 16,066 Km2 that represents 6.50% of the total surface of the state and .82% of the national one. It is located in the longitude West of 105° 10 ', North latitude of 27° 47 ' and to a north altitude of 1250 mts. on the level of the sea.

It is adjacent to the north with Manuel Benavides and Ojinaga; to the south with the state of Coahuila and to the west with San Francisco del Conchos, La Cruz, Saucillo, Julimes. Has 314 towns of which 313 are rural. The main population nuclei are City Camargo, the municipal section La Perla and the towns Estacion and La Cruz
